I don't understand the sudden price reduction. Are new AMD CPUs being released, or is it mainly to keep up with Intel's Gen 12? People are searching online, but no clear explanation has been found. Thanks.
They were released to match the newer 12th generation CPUs. The only four new chips arriving soon will be the 5800x3D, 5700x, and possibly two more budget models from the 5000 series. The 7000 series is likely to be phased out by year-end unless it comes next year.

Now that the 5600X costs $229, it’s not quite that affordable. The 12400F is $180, but you can find B550 boards at $50 less than B660 models, which cancels out any price benefit. Also, the 5600X runs faster and supports OC unlocking.
