She’s genuinely interested in getting it, but I’m not sure if she can afford it given her current budget. I’m also not very familiar with AMD CPUs, so I don’t think she’ll be able to justify the purchase.

She seems to have a different GPU; it's just for curiosity.

The CPU should handle it well, but the GPU is the key concern

It should perform similarly to the Athlon 860k. Which GPU?

She's doing well overall, but the problem lies with her CPU and RAM (6GB XFX 7950 Black Edition 3GB).

Don't expect anything impressive although it's still playable, assuming of course, she has a decent enough graphics card. Here's a CPU benchmark graph: The Phenom ii 940 should perform a bit worse than the x4 860K. So, again, assuming the gpu can handle it, she'll easily get above 30 fps. Which technically is playable (better than consoles already) Edited* Used a techspot graph instead.

She mentioned the RAM problem as well. It looks like some users say it works with just 6GB of memory.

Set it to 792 or 900p for the console feel.

You'll be okay (Maybe need more memory).

she plans to set up a fresh setup and has already outlined a plan for her with a Skylake system and an R9 380. It might be that she’s deciding between it or getting a new TV, depending on what’s available by Friday.
