AMD PC struggles with low performance using new RTX 4070 Ti graphics card.
Hi, still waiting for the new RTX 4070 Ti, but I tested on the AMD PC with my RTX 3080. I did CMOS reset first. Then used DDU in safe mode and without internet connection to uninstall NVIDIA, AMD and INTEL GPU drivers. So all clean now. Back in normal Windows mode installed via Geforce Experience the latest Nvidia drivers. Is the "GeForce Game Ready-Driver" for all Nvidia's GPU's the same drivers?? Or should DDU be uses when I switch from RTX 3080 to 4070 Ti? With my RTX 3080 at "GPU-Z" the PCI bus interface is now switching to 4.0. "GPU Twerk 3" shows up to 2010 MHz clock speed. But when I run tool "UserBenchmark" I still have bad performance with the RTX 3080... https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/62670263 In BIOS under "Onboard Devices Configuration" --> "PCIEX16_1 Mode" was set to "Auto". I set it to "GEN 4". GPU is in first x16 Slot. Still same result at UserBenchmark: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/62670561 (I reset it to "Auto") At my Intel PC the RTX 3080 performing is very good: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/62670879 So at the AMD PC not the GPU is the problem. What can I try next to find the issue? Thanks for your help and tips.

were at 100% usage? Is this typical for this step? Also curious—I'm using an AORUS GeForce RTX 3080 Master for testing until the new ASUS RTX 4070 Ti is available. I installed a fresh Windows 11 with only Nvidia drivers, but audio isn't working over HDMI or DP. It cracks at the window login screen and only functions after longer than 2-4 seconds. My Intel PC has no such issues. Hope the mainboard or CPU is okay. Can I return it to ASUS? I’m confused about this problem. Any advice on next steps? Thanks!
Hello, I reviewed the power supply connections on the Corsair HX850 Platinum 850 W. It has two cables for the mainboard, two for the GPU, and one for drives. The PSU features a switch for single or multiple connections; I switched it to multiple. After that, the UserBenchmark test performed flawlessly! Hello once more, today I connected my 750W power supply from my Intel system to the AMD machine that’s been having issues. The problem remains similar, so the PSU is fine. Only components I didn’t replace are the mainboard, RAM, and CPU. Since bench performance stays around 60% (possibly the limiting factor), I adjusted the D.O.C.P. in BIOS to Profile#1. Benchmarks improved, but the GPU is still weak: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/62717852. Now most of the PC boots, though sometimes it fails and requires a hard reboot. Maybe the overclocking settings are too high? (Check photos) Honestly, I prefer not to overclock because the specs suggest it should suffice. The sound from HDMI and DP over GPU isn’t working on the AMD side, and bench results differ from my attempts, so perhaps the mainboard is faulty? But how can I verify this? Interestingly, I also had a very strong benchmark, but consistently reported low overall performance: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/62709376
I reached out to ASUS Support, who indicated the mainboard is faulty. Then I spoke with the retailer, hoping for a replacement that would fix the issue.
Hello, just to wrap up this discussion. After multiple attempts with ASUS, they identified the issue and replaced a capacitor to resolve the problem. Initially, they sent it back because no issues were detected. Then I returned it again with a detailed error report. Testing with two graphics cards revealed the problem: while FurMark achieved over 500 FPS, MSI Afterburner and NVIDIA Overlayer showed no changes in processor clock or voltage settings. Additionally, the GPU fans failed to activate, which shouldn't happen at such high performance. With this information, they diagnosed and fixed the mainboard, and it has been functioning normally for months now. I appreciate the resolution despite the time and effort involved.
