Hi, I just purchased a new system.
I have a Ryzen 5 1400, a Gigabyte AB 350 gaming 3, G.skill Trident RGB z 3000mhz, and a Gigabyte GTX 1050 G1 Gaming.
My current speed is 2133mhz and I aim for at least 2933mhz.
I attempted to overclock the RAM twice before finally succeeding on the third try.
It still isn’t showing 2933mhz, maybe I did something wrong.
I haven’t updated my BIOS yet. Do you think updating it will make the RAM adjust automatically? Or should I overclock it after updating the BIOS?
I tried updating the BIOS in the Gigabyte app center but it failed, so I’m not sure how to do it manually.
Thanks!

Be mindful that ram speed remains a concern with Ryzen processors, and reaching 2933 might require boosting the voltage or adjusting the timings. I have a CL15 3000mhz in my setup but it doesn't stabilize above 2666mhz. I'm hoping for better bios updates soon.

Make sure to revise your bios first—they've improved significantly since launch. You can insert the updated bios file onto a USB drive and apply the changes directly within the bios.

I don't have much knowledge about bios and I'm worried about handling it without proper experience. I could look up a detailed guide or tutorial for this. Thanks for the information.

According to dawsilhelm, please refresh your bios. Also, give Ryzen master a chance. I reached 2933 with my initial attempt on G.Skill 3200 rated memory sticks via SK Hynix using Ryzen master.

The final part of this video demonstrates the steps clearly—it's very simple. Don't hesitate to ask any queries during the process.

I'll try this Ryzen Master software after updating the bios. Thank you!

I believe I understand why the APP CENTER couldn't update my BIOS—it was because I chose the entire RAR file instead of the smaller F7 file inside it. Can APP center actually update the BIOS, or should I handle that directly on the BIOS itself?

I modify my bios through app center without issues, but the Ryzen Master app is causing problems due to a missing DLL.

Reinstall Ryzen Master. If you only need to adjust RAM timings, do it in the BIOS.
