For 2x32 DDR5 sticks on AM5, 6000, 5400, or 5200 MHz, a stable and fast speed is ideal. Consider 3200–3600 MHz for balanced performance, or higher frequencies if your system supports it.

The optimal setting for AM5 is around 6000 MHz. https://www.kitguru.net/components/cpu/l...ext=Now%2C the Infinity Fabric clock,or 3000MHz for DDR5-6000. Earlier generations used higher memory speeds, causing performance drops due to clock division. Now the Infinity Fabric operates independently from the memory controller, keeping its frequency stable at 2000 MHz while the memory runs faster. Above 6000 MHz, the system applies a 2:1 reduction, adding latency mainly to the memory side. DDR5-6200 and 6400 models tend to lag behind because the slower controller introduces delays. Infinity Fabric’s decoupling helps maintain consistent performance. TL;DR – AMD sees DDR5-6000MHz with good timings as a solid choice, and we’ll explore it further soon.

From my observations, AMD processors appear to ignore the number of memory slots on the system, capping performance around 6000MT/s to 6400MT/s. Focus on the fastest option available, though practical gains are limited beyond around 5600MT/s. The AM5 architecture doesn’t see significant improvement from increased memory speed. It’s not the case with Intel, where adding more RAM doesn’t necessarily boost overall performance.
