AMD issues with games and Chrome problems.
Issues reported include frequent crashes after short play sessions, Chrome behaving erratically, and system instability after updates. Some titles like AOE4, Gotham Knights, and Mount & Blade 2 become unstable quickly, while others such as Starfield and Exoprimal run smoothly for extended periods. Recent Chrome performance has worsened, with noticeable lag and freezing, especially after a week ago when the browser took over a minute to respond. After resetting or restarting, it often recovers, though occasional crashes persist. Updated drivers and BIOS still don’t fully resolve the problems. The machine runs on Windows 11 Pro 64-bit with specific hardware components.
Chipset drivers have been updated, GPU drivers are current. Overlays: yes, I disabled them but still experienced crashes, so I re-enabled one because it’s frequently used. XMP settings are conflicting with the BIOS; in the menu it shows XMP 1, but both options had identical values. In advanced settings I can adjust many parameters, but I’m unsure which to select. If you could review my configuration and recommend a suitable setting, that would be helpful.
What is the Multiplane Overlay MPO? It's one adjustment, which is why you didn't receive my response.
I understand, I was thinking Xbox game overlay, Steam overlay, AMD overlay. I followed the instructions and turned off Multiplane Overlay MPO. Since I'm short on time, I'll wait for an update tomorrow if any crashes occur.
The issue seems to be with the system locking up on Chrome, especially after playing games. Once I rebooted Disney+, it worked fine, but now I notice a problem with chrom. It might be related to my RAM—perhaps it’s filling up and giving up. I’m not sure, but I’m leaning toward the RAM being the cause, especially since you mentioned XMP settings.
I’m facing the exact same problem you described. My setup closely matches yours, and my Chrome often freezes until I close it. Pressing Alt while in games leads to a 5-10 second delay, and random freezes occur frequently. I recently reinstalled Windows, turned D.O.C.P. on in BIOS, but the issue persists. I’m losing progress and unsure of the cause, though it seems like a software problem might be involved.
I've already attempted it, but freezes keep happening—especially with games. What steps can be taken to resolve this issue?
