Hey, planning to assemble a new PC soon? When the Ryzen 7 9800X3D launches, what RAM capacity works well for gaming? I’m just starting with AMD and used Intel before. I want a solid RTX 4070 for graphics performance. I don’t need RGB or white displays—just a straightforward black build. It’ll replace my old i7 8700K, which is about seven years past its prime.

For basic needs of a couple of M.2 slots and several USB ports, any B650 board works well. The B650E supports PCI-E 5.0 graphics, X870 adds PCI-E 5.0 graphics plus USB4, while X670E/X870E offer more lanes—typically four—and may include extra features like LED postcode, 5Gb or 10Gb LAN, and WIFI7.
