Hi
I just got a new CPU and am considering overclocking it. I'm new to this process but have always wanted to try. My current model is running at 4 cores out of the box, and I'm wondering if my motherboard can support overclocking with it. It's an MSI 970A-G43, though it might not be ideal for gaming or high-end overclocking. I've got AMD Overdrive installed and thought about using the "Auto Clock" feature. Anyone have experience with that? Would my motherboard handle the overclock?

This board isn't ideal for overclocking, lacks 4+1 power and has no heatsinks on the VRM. Auto overclocking isn't advisable either because it might require more vcore than necessary and raise temperatures. A proper cooler and PSU would also be required.

I thought so. The Wraith cooler is installed on the CPU, and I'm using a 650 Corsair-PSU.

Thank you, I might also test the Auto Clock on AMD Overdrive.
