Current PC setup is outdated, causing more CPU bottlenecks in recent games like COD. You're using an AMD FX-6300 with a GTX 760, 16GB RAM. Should I recommend upgrading the CPU or GPU to improve frame rates? It would help to see medium quality performance without heavy downscaling. Also, during intense moments like Apex or COD:MW, the CPU stays near full capacity while the GPU isn’t reaching its potential. Any tips for optimizing performance before considering upgrades?

Overclocking offers some benefit, but it won<|pad|> a lot to significantly improve performance with such outdated hardware.

The 6300 offers a strong boost clock relative to many budget Ryzen models, making CPU overclocking a viable option—likely up to 4.1ghz, though you should verify your power supply can support it. The GPU boost wouldn't significantly help, but it's worth checking online. It won't make a huge difference overall, just a small improvement.

I can provide a list of affordable upgrades that could boost your system by around 200 dollars or less, depending on your budget.

This version doesn't convey any useful information. It mentions a poor old FPU and a very low IPC count.

You can opt for a more affordable Ryzen processor, such as the 3200G or 1600AF, which typically cost around $100. For graphics, a budget-friendly option would be an RX 560, 570, or 580, usually priced between $80 and $180. You might also consider using onboard graphics, though they’re generally less powerful. If you need better performance later, adding a dedicated graphics card is possible but not advised. However, you can achieve solid results in esports games and then upgrade to a better GPU later. Good integrated options include the Ryzen 3 3200G or Ryzen 5 2400G.

He'll also require a fresh motherboard and additional RAM. Since he plans to upgrade the whole setup eventually, it makes sense to install 2600/2700/3600 right away and purchase the GPU later when he has more funds.

I've never tried it, but it functions similarly.
