I'm using the AMD Advantage Edition G15 (5900hx, 6800m) that Linus tested a couple of weeks ago. I've purchased a second unit for my laptop. https://www.pny.eu/en/consumer/explore-a...ory---16gb Should this RAM be compatible? Are the chips 8x or 16x? If it isn't supported or performs poorly, I can return them. Also, I'd appreciate recommendations for high-speed RAM options that work well with this model!

Did you mix up PCIe lanes with a RAM slot? It doesn’t have 8x or 16x connectors; instead, it’s based on pin count, form factor (SO-DIMM), or DDR type. The main concern is whether the laptop has RAM soldered onto the motherboard. In G15 models, this isn’t the case and it can handle up to 32GB. It should start up smoothly at full speed, matching Asus’s stated 3200mhz.

Linus released a follow-up clip for the G15 explaining the issue with the RAM slowing the setup. It mentions that the stock uses denser-typed memory, while the better type is less dense and contains more chips—though the exact PNY model isn't clear.

I managed to get both parts, but the RAM isn’t working with what I’m using. It looks like I’ll need a different type of RAM.

Have you ever located the correct RAM? I'm getting lost and worried about spending $200, which I'd rather avoid. I'm open to 2x8 x8 units. Everything I've seen mentions x8 as dual-channel, but I'm not sure if that matters.
