Hi guys
I'm facing some issues with my machine and think it's due to a failing heatsink and PSU. Quickly, my hardware monitor shows cores #1 - #8 at 73*C - 79*C, which seems dangerously high compared to the previous 62*C. I might have changed something in BIOS. My heatsink is just basic AMD stock.

Thanks for your reply. After reviewing the forums thoroughly, I feel it's time to upgrade my components. My current Gigabytes LMT76 motherboard might not handle the required wattage for my processor, so even with a good heatsink, performance could suffer. I’m considering recommendations for an AMD FX 8350 and have ordered an RM850 PSU. I’m thinking about Sabertooth 990FX or Crosshairs V Formula Z, as well as Noctua D14 or water cooling options. Looking ahead, I plan to upgrade to better RAM than the 16GB DDR3 1600MHz model—whether a jump to 1866MHz is significant has been unclear, but I’m planning a full rebuild soon.

79 degrees is clearly too hot for an AMD CPU. Consider re-seating your cooler using a new Thermal Compound. Also, reset the BIOS settings to defaults and verify that your board isn't enforcing any automatic overclocking.

Thanks for your reply. After reviewing the forums thoroughly, it seems it's time to upgrade to a new motherboard and cooling system. My Gigabytes LMT76 might struggle to handle the required wattage for my processor, even with a good heatsink.

I'm considering upgrading to an AMD FX 8350 and looking into options like the Sabertooth 990FX or Crosshairs V Formula Z. Water cooling seems like a solid choice, possibly the Noctua D14.

Looking ahead, I plan to upgrade to better RAM than the 16GB DDR3 1600MHz model. I've read that increasing to 1866MHz isn't a huge leap, but I'm thinking about building a new system in the future. My current setup is mainly for music production, so I need something reliable for smooth plugin performance. I might need a dedicated thread for this soon.

After reviewing the forums thoroughly, I feel it's time to invest in a new motherboard and heatsink or water cooling system. My Gigabytes LMT76 might struggle to handle the required wattage for my processor, so even a good heatsink will be working hard.

I'm considering upgrading to an AMD FX 8350 with a PSU. I was thinking about Sabertooth 990FX or Crosshairs V Formula Z, and possibly a Noctua D14 or water cooling option.

Looking ahead, I plan to upgrade to better RAM than the 16GB DDR3 1600MHz model. I'm unsure if increasing to 1600MHz makes a significant difference, but I'm considering a full rebuild in the future.

My current setup is used for music production, so I need something that ensures smooth plugin performance. I might need a new thread soon. The Asus M5A99FX R2.0 shares the same chipset as the boards you mentioned and is slightly more affordable. I wouldn't exceed 4.2 GHz with a standard heatsink.

I also noticed the FX 8350 is cooler than the 9590 at the same frequency.
