Hello, I made a probably irresponsible purchase from Ebay and bought a non-working PowerColor 6700xt in hopes of learning some hardware skills and potentially bringing it back to life. I'm a little stuck at the moment but noticed some interesting points. The Card shows up in GPUz and in the Bios (see attached) The card does NOT show up in HWmonitor and task manager (instead it shows the integrated graphics I am using to see the display) The Fans do spin up The computer will boot (can hear windows start up sound), but will not display anything plugged into the card Speaking with no experience, is there hope here because the card is at least being detected? And that means its not dead dead? The System I am using: i7-9700k ROG Maximus XI Formula Samsung 970 PRO 1TB 1000 watt seasonic PSU And normally a 2080ti, but have removed to test this card

appears to be a power-related concern. I experienced a comparable issue with my RTX 3070 due to damaged power cables. You might want to check the PCIe connectors on the GPU.

It doesn’t look like it unless you’re working directly on the hardware. The card is fully installed and all power connections are secure. I’m currently adjusting drivers and checking if I can update the GPU’s BIOS. Also, in device managers the card appears but shows a status indicating Windows has stopped it due to reported issues (Code 43), which seems vague.

Resolved the problem. The card lacks its BIOS chip completely. Is there anyone familiar with the chances of purchasing and installing a replacement BIOS chip?

It wouldn’t hurt to check the power color options and see if a replacement BIOS chip is available. If not, look for a cheaper, damaged unit online and confirm its availability before purchasing.

Spotted a seller on eBay who focuses mainly on Bios chips. He claims he can provide a chip with pre-installed BIOS, so I’ll need to test it after it arrives. Meanwhile, I’m planning to purchase an affordable soldering iron and watch some beginner-friendly soldering tutorials.
