Did you explore "curve optimizer" instead of "regular" undervolting? My 5800X also faced stability problems until I switched it. Now I've set curve optimizer to 15 (out of 30, higher values mean more undervolting) and increased boost speed by +200. It's now fully stable, boosting up to 5 GHz single core and around 4.6 GHz with all cores.
I used either + or -, which affected the C20 score while leaving stability intact. To run R20, a static Vcore under 1.25V or negative offset near 0.2000 is needed.
It's unusual to need a low static Vcore or negative offset just for stability.
You shouldn't need to do that. The CPU's small hole for overclocking exists to ensure all units operate consistently at the same base clock and voltage, regardless of their position in the silicon range. If everything else checks out, a faulty CPU might be the cause. Ideally, test with another CPU to confirm the problem isn't elsewhere. What PSU do you have? Have you tested with just two or one RAM stick? I understand overclocking four sticks is tougher, but it usually works fine at stock settings.
I attempted with just two stacks and even tried at 2133 MHz despite it being 3600 MHz. My PSU is an Fractal Ion+ 860P, but I have another PSU from my old rig on Crosair. It’s really tough to switch, and my new build is a table PC (deskpc). I don’t have another CPU nearby, can I try?
The Fractal solution is adequate and ranks as tier A in the PSU tier list. Only minor testing is required to confirm any issues.
I'm exhausted from constantly working on the deskpc, especially since I built it myself. Anything you suggest would be much better. It takes forever, so I'm planning to request a dynamic case. I'll update you once the new system is ready.
