Nothing compares to a poor overclock to shake my confidence. Curve Optimizer was included in Ryzen Master, but I’m struggling to figure out how to set a stable underclock on my 5600X. After choosing "Per Core" and starting optimization, the results are counterproductive—my CPU runs hotter and consumes more power than usual. Once I turned it off and switched back to Game Mode with PBO enabled, things improved, but I’m still confused about what Curve Optimizer does. I found old tutorials, but they don’t match what I see in Ryzen Master or my BIOS (MSI X570 Gaming Pro Carbon Wi-Fi). I need clearer guidance on how these settings affect performance. I’d appreciate tips on getting the CPU to use minimal power while still benefiting from any hidden improvements. Also, I’m curious about using this tool as a manufacturer-provided feature. Thanks.
Hello, I share that I also own a Ryzen 5 5600X with a Hyper 212. Initially, I ran it at stock settings, achieving voltages around 1.4 or 1.3, which allowed temperatures between 77-80°C while playing GTA V—maintaining at least 70°C in any game. Recently, I switched to an undervolt setting directly through the BIOS, without using any software. In BIOS I turned off PBO and Core Boost, and set manual voltage and frequency values for each core. This approach proved effective; I kept 1.15V and 4.55GHz, which improved stability. After several trials and a stability test in CineBench R20 lasting 5 minutes, the peak temperature reached 72°C in R20, dropping to 52-54°C in games like GTA V. This configuration boosted multi-core performance while reducing CPU temperatures by about 20°C. So far, I haven’t encountered any issues, and I’m confident this method works well for your setup. You manually adjusted all core voltages down to 1.15V using BIOS settings—it’s useful as a last resort, but not ideal. I’m okay with PBO and want to explore reducing idle voltage or adjusting it across the full frequency range without needing one fixed setting for every core. I’ll research more on this.
