When I watch videos on Amazon or Netflix and try to skip ahead, my computer freezes. This happens when streaming directly in Chrome or Edge, but also when using the Amazon or Netflix apps from the Microsoft Store. If I leave those apps open while gaming or looking at websites, the PC gets stuck again. I tried other video players like Media Player Classic, PowerDVD and VLC, and they worked perfectly without problems. This issue never happened on Windows 10, and my Windows 11 is a clean installation. I checked my RAM twice, and it's all good. I also ran both CPU and GPU stress tests, and those checks passed too. Here is what I'm thinking about next: the router (but downloading isn't a problem), or maybe changing out the video codec. Anyone here who has seen this same issue? I'd really appreciate some ideas on how to fix it. Thanks so much in advance!

Update your post to put all the details about your computer hardware in full detail, like what brand of power supply it is, its model, wattage, how old it is, and if it is good as new or just used. Also tell us which hard drives you have, their brands, capacities, and how much space they are currently taking up.

Here are some helpful ideas:
- Go to Reliability History in Event Viewer to see any error codes, warnings, or messages that show up right before your PC freezes. Try using both tools together but only pick one at a time.
- Use Task Manager, Resource Monitor, and Process Explorer (which you can get for free from Microsoft) to watch how the system is working and look for changes happening right when it freezes. Again, just use one tool at a time here too. Check out this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sysint...s-explorer
- Run "dism" and "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) from the Command Prompt either or both of those utilities might find something wrong and fix it for you.

I use Amazon Prime sometimes when I want to change my web page or clear things up, but on some nights it works fine. Other times it crashes, freezes, or makes my voice come out from nowhere while I'm talking—but I never have to turn off the whole computer just because of this. Mostly in my case, the problem is with my wifi connection.

I checked all my gear and everything is fine. Online tips say lots of folks hit the same roadblock with Windows 11. If this keeps happening to me at home, I'm going to switch back to Windows 10.

Besides that, send me your logs for both the system and apps. Open Event Viewer by typing "eventvwr" in the run box. Find the Windows Logs folder on the left side and click the arrow to expand it. Right-click on Application and pick "Save all events as...". Pick any place you want and name the file "Application". It will add an .evtx suffix automatically. Do the same for System: right-click there, choose "Save all events as...", pick a place, name the file "System", and it will also add the .evtx suffix automatically. Finally, upload both Application.evtx and System.evtx to the cloud with this link so people can see them (make sure they are public).

Make these Google Drive files visible to anyone who has the link (like sharing them on a password-free website).

There isn't anything obvious in your system log to explain the freezes, but I did see these entries... Here is Code: Log Name: System Source: SRTSP Date: 08/10/2023 06:56:03 Event ID: 2003 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: PC1 Description: The description for Event ID 2003 from source SRTSP cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: The message resource is present but the message was not found in the message table You also get similar messages in your Application log... Code: Log Name: Application Source: NortonSecurity Date: 08/10/2023 07:04:58 Event ID: 35 Task Category: None Level: Information Keywords: Classic User: SYSTEM Computer: PC1 Description: The description for Event ID 35 from source NortonSecurity cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer. If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event. The following information was included with the event: NortonSecurity The SRTSP.sys driver is a part of the Norton (Symantec) Antimalware product and this message suggests that not everything works well with Norton. In any case, Norton is not an ideal product to have installed. All third-party anti-malware products cause BSODs, crashes, freezes on many systems and Norton is one of the worst offenders in my opinion. I would suggest that you completely uninstall your Norton product using these instructions and tools here . Also uninstall any other third-party anti-malware products you might have installed - you don't need them and they are more trouble than they are worth. All you really need is Windows Firewall and Windows Defender.
