I understand you're dealing with a bent pin on your AM5 motherboard. It's understandable to feel uncertain, especially since you're new to this situation. You mentioned using an 9800X3D and want to avoid damaging the CPU. Given that the bend was minor and not severe, it might be possible to fix it yourself. However, the concern about incorrect CPU installation is valid. The pin you bent is labeled 39 x AV, which relates to Memory Channel A. You've already taken photos showing the damage and marked it with a red dot. This visual evidence could be useful for troubleshooting. Consider reaching out to forums like Reddit or checking AM5 socket pin maps to confirm the correct orientation. If you're unsure about the steps, it might be safer to consult a more experienced builder or seek further guidance before proceeding. Your caution is wise—better safe than risking CPU damage.

It looks like you managed well overall, but identifying the bent pin was tricky without the pointer. The person who damaged the CPU by forcing it in a bad position was really careless—just handle it gently and it should be fine. Otherwise, the PC might not boot, and you’ll need to replace the board.

Thanks for your feedback! The pressure on the CPU holder in AM5 really added to my concerns, but I’m willing to try again.
