Today was a rough day. I replaced my cooler and removed the CPU for cleaning. Put it back in. Restarted it. Got a C5 error again. Tried reseating, but same issue. Discovered bent pins. Attempted to straighten them, but no power. The CPU shows no burn marks. Should I replace both the CPU and the motherboard? I think the motherboard is beyond repair.

CPU is working properly.
No pins are missing from the socket, so you can adjust them back—it's a hassle, might not function correctly, and it could take a long time, but it's manageable. I've done this on several Intel boards before. If that's not an option, it's likely a new board.

I continue to put in the effort. It now sends updates to C5, helping me see progress.

You made it! I went for the 9950X3D combo because that was what I needed for the original build last year. I had some extra money, and my fiancé wants to play Starfield and upgrade further. She’s using an AM4 Ryzen 5, which means she’ll get the benefits here.
