I made a mistake by taking off the socket cover before adjusting the lever on this new AM5 build (MSI Pro B650M-P). During startup I saw a red and orange warning light for CPU/RAM. After updating the BIOS, only an orange light appeared briefly before turning green. The machine seems to be working, but I’m concerned about the pins. Removing the cap left me worried—what if the pins aren’t bent or screwable? If lowering the lever without the cap feels risky, could you give some advice on checking the pins safely? Also, since I’ve built many computers recently and forgot about the cap, I’d appreciate any tips.

If the system functions correctly, everything is fine. Issues like non-working RAM channels or other problems would raise concerns. Also, noticing these LEDs illuminate during startup is typical—they are initializing each connected component. Once that's complete, they should turn off as the boot process continues, indicating everything is operating properly. Problems arise when these LEDs remain active during bootup, suggesting a potential issue.

It stops the pins from twisting when the CPU isn't present, which helps avoid issues from drops or drops. If nothing comes into contact with the pins, they stay straight.
