Are there any users with a Carrizo AM4 CPU on a retail motherboard? What model and BIOS version suit you? My setup uses an AMD A6 Pro 8570, but it fails to boot on my X470 motherboard. I was considering an A320-based board with Bristol Ridge support, but I’m hesitant to invest if others confirm it won’t work either.

It seems you might need to go back to the BIOS version before Zen 2. They had to reduce CPU support to accommodate newer processors.

Most 400 series boards switched away from supporting older CPUs in favor of newer 3000 series models because the BIOS lacked sufficient memory to run the 3000 series CPUs, and the older APU was no longer compatible.

My board is from the MSI Max series (with the earliest revision supporting Zen 2), which means I’ll need a different chipset. I’m okay with this, though—I still need an older BIOS version.
