AMD confirmed they'd continue using the AM4 platform through 2020, meaning the latest option available will be Zen 3, which hasn't been announced yet.

The think is, although Zen 3 will still use AM4, there is a high chance that the first generation boards (A320, B350 and X370) will either have limited support or won't be supported at all, especially the lower-end models. Not by AMD, by the board manufacturers.

It seems you're referring to the B450 model, as the B540 doesn't exist. The B550 boards are coming soon.

If theres an am4 zen 4xxx series i would think it will just be a refresh of the 3xxx series. I wouldnt imagine itll be a huge upgrade. But even if there wasnt another release zen 2 should easily last years.
