It's tough to dispute Foobar for its extensive music library and all the available extensions.

There are options in the Google Play Store that handle tasks for you. One example is the app linked here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/detai...relessfree. It supports any music not restricted by DRM, including files you transfer from a CD, non-DRM sources, and purchases made after April 2009 when Apple removed DRM from iTunes.

To manage your library and stream music, MusicBee is a great choice for Windows users. For connecting to it from an Android device, using Subsonic server along with DSub Android client is recommended.

Desktop and Poweramp for Android are available. I create all my playlists using Foobar and transfer files to the phone.

You’ve got a great range of options at your disposal: Amazon Music, Google Play, and XBox Music (which works on Android and iPhone). If you’re an avid music listener, XBox Music is worth considering—it offers unlimited streaming and downloads with a subscription, no ads, and even includes a 30-day trial. For Windows 8 users, it’s free to stream with ads. Simply launch the Music app for Windows 8 and you’re set. I personally use it and find it quite reliable; it’s not flawless but works well enough. If you prefer a subscription model without buying individual tracks, Spotify is another solid choice, though it isn’t available in Canada yet. They’ve mentioned plans to launch there soon, which seems confusing to them.
