Hello everyone. I'm working with a Cisco ASA 5505, which is quite outdated. I'm looking for a more recent model that fits my needs. I'm based in the UK and have a budget of about £150-200. The device should support VPN connectivity and gigabit Ethernet. It currently only offers 100mbps performance, uses older RSA encryption, and isn't ideal for modern security requirements. I need something user-friendly to configure easily. Thanks.

I’m thinking you’re open to using an x86 firewall device instead of the Cisco ASA hardware. Options include Protectli, Untangle, or the NetGate SG-1100 with PFSense already installed.

I'm familiar with the new FirePower. I didn't bring it up since it's quite costly. I have an extra PC available for use.

We can accommodate either gigabit speed or 500Mbps as your requirement.

I was planning to purchase one for homelabbing until I noticed the price labels. Haha, even a Fortigate would be expensive for 500Mb/s.

Consider Firewalla, it offers less advanced features compared to ASA, but delivers around 500Mbps and includes VPN capabilities.

You're seeking a connection speed of 500Mb/s without UTM, and even the entry-level options can achieve it.
