It seems you're exploring an older approach to running Rosetta on macOS. Many years ago, the only options were either forcing Rosetta on Linux or using a macOS 10.12 machine with a VM running an older OS while enabling Rosetta. I faced the same challenge and found partial success by switching between versions in VMware Player and then in a VM. However, the most reliable solution today is investing in a more affordable system and having someone rewrite the software, since this isn't a stable or long-term fix. Relying on patchwork solutions from unsupported programs isn't practical anymore.

Hi there! Thanks for your kind words and support! I’m glad the PowerPC program is now running smoothly. I used a handy tool named SheepShaver to emulate the hardware and get OS 9.0.4 working perfectly. You can check out more details on how to set it up here: https://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/sheepshaver_setup

Keeping that URL safe for a gloomy afternoon is quite fortunate—it works smoothly on OS9

I came across a discussion about the other version claiming it should run on the emulator. The software functions properly, but it occasionally produces strange errors. Perhaps the installation wasn't done correctly—I'm not a Mac user, so verifying that is tricky. At least MacDiff launches and sometimes opens files. Right now, it isn't a dependable fix, I don't know why... I'll have to keep exploring this path, I think.
