Almost resolved: Arch 3-gaps desktop fails to launch, lightdm login keeps repeating.
I've encountered several challenges setting up Arch Linux, Lightdm, and i3-gaps. The login screen appears correctly, but after entering credentials and clicking login, the interface becomes unresponsive and reverts to the login page. I'm unsure what additional steps or configurations are required to resolve this issue. Could you provide more details about the steps you've tried so far? Thank you for your help!
Fixed by adding Xorg-Xinit and updating lightdm.conf. Had to switch user session to i3, uncomment it and also the line with lightdm/xsession. Another issue appeared—can't use mod+enter to open a terminal. Anyone can help with this?
Try using mod + f to check if the file manager launches. If not, your i3keys might be empty. Check the link https://gist.github.com/jonschoning/5219212 for details. This file location varies by Linux distribution and installation method—typically in /home/nanaki/.config/i3 named config. A mod+key format appears as # start a terminal bindsym $mod+Return exec sakura. For full guidance, refer to the user guide at http://i3wm.org/docs/userguide.html. Mod+d and i2-config-wizard can also assist. This should have been installed at setup, though sometimes issues occur. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask more questions on Discord here in Nanaki!
