It's designed mainly for the family HTPC with some gaming, though not top-tier triple A games. It runs on a GTX 980 on a 4K display. I don't believe a 3300X will significantly boost performance beyond what it already offers, but it'll stay in mind for future upgrades. The best part is it'll become more affordable once Gen 4 comes out. AMD clearly needs a lot of silicon to stock it. Another SKU means more budget-friendly gamers! Great product!
Sorry, I didn’t watch the video. I skipped some of the benchmark graphs for Hardware Unboxed versus a 1600 AF. The 3300x is roughly 10-15% quicker in games (similar to a 3600) and about 5-10% slower in multi-core tasks like Premiere Pro. It’s noticeably faster in Photoshop, likely due to higher clock speeds. After more research, the 3300x performs better than the 1600 AF in most cases and is only slightly slower than the 3600 in multi-core applications. See the Dutch reviews for details. I’m impressed. I’ve been planning an upgrade to a 1600 AF with an RX 5700. Now I might choose the 3300x instead. Why are people delaying B550 motherboards? B450 boards should also work with this 3-gen Ryzen chip, right?
Still something attractive about a quad core. That core count was the reigning king for a decade, and can hang in current gen, for an amazing price. Love me a good quad core.
Well according to some reviews I've seen it won't ... Maybe board partners will release bios update to support the new ryzen 3. I don't know how reliable is techspot but here is an article stating that next ryzen cpu probably won't have support for older motherboard than x570 and b550 https://www.techspot.com/news/85180-amd-...oards.html
