While handling cables, I accidentally left my PC running. All the ARGB indicators lit up together—except the CPU, which stayed on. After about 30 seconds, the case fans stopped working, but the CPU fan remained active. When I restarted the system, the CPU fan light also failed to activate, even though it was working before. I checked every connection, but tightening them didn’t help. Someone on Reddit suggested I might have damaged the ARGB header, but that could mean only one fan stopped. Since my motherboard and other components are still operational, it seems like the issue isn’t hardware-related. It might be a software problem, possibly linked to Armourycrate or another RGB tool. OpenRGB didn’t resolve the issue either. If you need more details, let me know. Thanks.

I once damaged an RGB header board by shorting it with a simple splitter cable. If you have several connectors they’re likely on the same circuit. My board also broke the second M.2 slot, and it only boots when I short the demo LED button. ASUS can’t explain the hardware issue. Please stop and restart LightService. If it appears in Aura Creator, it’s probably not a software problem. Also, if you didn’t hear, see, or feel anything, the LEDs are probably fine—just maybe some of them, and only the header is faulty, so it’s likely the board itself.

It's frustrating getting the wrong part. Appreciate the advice, I'll check the suggestions to rule out any software problems.

That’s positive news then, because you can send it back. It’s not a huge deal since I only used the header to temporarily manage the LEDs on an ASUS 1080 Ti. ASUS seems to require their components only work with ASUS boards, which is unclear if that’s still true. The tricky part was my RAM was controlled by ASUS Aura, even though it added another layer to the setup. I kept facing really strange problems with that machine, so eventually I swapped it out for a cheaper model since I don’t use the CPU for anything except storage server tasks these days.
