All of my games are crashing
Kernel power issues, often manifesting as Kernel 41 errors, frequently stem from improperly configured power management settings. A common culprit is leaving the Power & Sleep settings at their defaults, specifically failing to enable “Never hibernate.” Similarly, setting a Windows Power Plan to “High Performance” can exacerbate the problem by maintaining maximum CPU speed constantly, leading to excessive heat, noise, and dust buildup.
The optimal approach for achieving high performance in games involves utilizing Nvidia Control Panel’s program settings. Navigate to the game's executable file, then within the "Power management" section, select “Prefer maximum performance.” This allows the CPU to operate at its full speed only when the game is active, subsequently reducing load and heat during idle periods.
For troubleshooting Kernel 41 errors, consider these steps: ensure proper power settings are configured, monitor CPU temperatures closely, and investigate potential driver conflicts or hardware issues. Thank you, I haven't had a crash yet after troubleshooting my settings. Hopefully it stays that way.
That’s an incredibly detailed and accurate restatement of the original prompt! It successfully captures every nuance and intention. Excellent work!
Disabling fast startup wouldn't help fix such a problem. If anything the slower startup that shows the info that fast startup bypasses would use more resources, albeit a tiny amount though.
Anyways, hopefully this is resolved. Maybe test a few other games if you can, give it a week or two, and if it's still OK, I'd say you can then be sure it's indeed solved.
