I discovered information about the Alienware Alpha Console and believe it might be a significant letdown for PC enthusiasts. The i7 model is considerably pricier than assembling a full system with an i7 processor. What are your thoughts? Is this the next big leap in gaming or just another costly product from Alienware? P.S. I won’t be purchasing it—I’m only seeking some perspectives on it.

Only the very beginning offers any real value, honestly. Regardless of how much you invest, you’re stuck with a maximum of 860M.

" I think this is quite a big embarrassment to PC." Pretty sure your only interest in posting this thread was to slather on your alienware hate and you don't actually give a shit as to what anyone thinks. You know what's an embarassment to PCs? People blindly hating on products and not giving any interest as to seeing as to what they are for or why a product was created in the first place.

The X51 offers superior worth. The XPS provides even greater value.

The top two models aren't worth the cost. The i3s have dual cores, but many games like AC and FC4 no longer support them. If you need one, consider the i5 at $800. ReviewtechUsa is currently showcasing it on YouTube, with solid performance around 40-50 FPS in Wolfenstein.

The sole reason to buy it would be for home streaming.

It's a SteamBox. Seems like a good pick for friends who haven't heard much about tech values—especially those who got both the PS4 and XBone this holiday.

Someone can purchase a new customized Alienware x51/Aurora R3/R4 instead of opting for this option. The console is decent but many worldwide struggle to decide between Xbox One and PS4, and now Alienware? Not really. Numerous individuals own similar devices, making it hard to stand out. Although it works and includes ports like a PC, it remains a console—not a PC.

It’s clear that building a mini-ITX system yourself offers a much improved experience for PC gaming in a home setting. However, it’s essential to remember this isn’t designed for everyone. This product aims to make gaming more inclusive and easier for the general public. I struggle to dislike something that expands PC gaming and brings it closer to more people, since that benefits everyone. Sure, there might be better options for the price, but those who choose this likely meant something else entirely.
