I captured that noise my computer makes every 2-3 times weekly. My previous machine had the same HDD and everything ran smoothly. I updated all other components and began this process. The setup includes an MSI Pro B660M-A with DDR4, i5 13600K, 4070TI, and a 750W 80+ Gold PSU. The sound appears to originate from the motherboard or CPU area, though I’m still investigating AUD-20230905-WA0001.m4a.
That's a HDD - I'd bet money on it. Only other thing it would be is a fan Your mobo doesn't even have a beeper. Unplug any speakers and if you still hear it - it's a moving part. Something either got shifted when swapping or something is too loose - Good luck.
It's hard to understand why you chose to capture this moment with background music. It's not a warning tone—it's just a mechanical noise.
I didn't include the music; I was running a low-power PC game when the sound began. It usually doesn’t last long, so when I got the phone in, I captured it instantly—typically around 20 to 30 seconds—but mainly the beeps. Regarding the mechanical sound, it might come from the HDD or other components, though I had the same HDD on the older PC. After replacing other parts while keeping the same HDD, the sound appeared eventually.
I've worked with data forensics and complex hardware repairs for over eight years, plus advanced hard drive maintenance. I'd guess the noise comes from the HDDs themselves, even if we can't pinpoint the exact reason. It's not something you'll benefit from trying to fix. The sound happens no matter what's causing it.
