Alert 2 not working properly on Windows 10
I attempted to run Red Alert 2 and it functions properly, but when I switch tabs or use keyboard shortcuts and return, the screen becomes black. Even without switching, after about ten minutes of play, the screen freezes and I’m forced to log out and log back in. I tried a ddraw.dll fix, but it didn’t help. I understand installing Windows XP on another partition would work, but why should I do that?
Virtual machines aren’t ideal for Red Alert 2 because it’s problematic—when I used VirtualBox, I couldn’t adjust the map view properly, making it unplayable. Also, VMware Workstation is too small, causing the game to display a tiny screen as soon as I start it.
There are several methods to run RA2 on windows 10
I've tried the original disc, but it didn't work well.
From Disc, I have both C&C the first decade and C&C the ultimate collection.
Both are available for me and I use them.
Origin also has C&C ultimate collection.
