I was thinking about upgrading to an i5 12600k or i7 12700k, but wondered if I could stick with my current cooler for the i7 7700k. I checked the Noctua NH-D15 and noticed they have a bracket to fit the Alder Lake CPU. Will that be enough? The design changes of the new processor might affect cooling performance. Thanks!
Just saying, but 12600K gets quite hot. Though I've overclocked it to 4.9Ghz all-core (1.21v), OCCT reports power usage just above 200W. And I have a 360 AIO (Arctic Liquid Freezer II) - 95C So without OC NH-D15 is most likely fine, but not for OC. Though yeah you didn't say anything about OC. OC is kind of dead in these years/decade.
