In short, my sister accidentally threw her AirPods Pro (USB-C) case and earbuds into the toilet. I helped her retrieve them using latex gloves and then covered everything in paper towels to try restoring their function. She managed to flush one of the earbuds, leaving just one left. My dad has older models and is curious if he could use the newer one because of its improved features. However, she didn’t have AppleCare coverage, and we didn’t anticipate her dropping them in the toilet.
They're packed with leftover liquid, one is completely lost and you're trying to mix things up with different headphones and cases. It's over, buddy!
Based on discussions in the Apple forums, it appears some users have asked whether a 2nd Gen iPod Pros can fit in a Gen 1 case. So far, the consensus is no. The dimensions don’t match, so they likely won’t work together. Even if they somehow fit, pairing them would probably cause compatibility issues with other devices. I acknowledge that my AirPods were fine after a thorough cleaning, but repeated washing eventually damaged them. They stopped functioning properly due to microphone issues and noise filtering problems. Sad to see them go.
The only one that lasted is still functioning. It’s just that one AirPod is useless without the other, and my sister needs clear cancellation since she has terrible roommates. Everything could have been prevented if she hadn’t flushed the toilet before confirming the AirPods were still in the case.
