The installation requirements for an AIO on Intel boards have evolved, but the core components remain largely consistent across generations. The mounting bracket design typically stays similar, though minor adjustments may occur to accommodate newer chip designs.

Intel consumer models from 4th and 10th generation use LGA 1150 and LGA 1200 connectors, allowing compatible cooling brackets. Intel HEDT (high-end desktop) versions from those generations are LGA 2011 and 2066, which differ in spacing and aren't interchangeable.

It's likely you're referring to consumer CPU platforms like LGA 1150 and LGA 1200, which share the same socket spacing. To confirm your CPU's socket type, search "CPUName ARK" where CPUName is your CPU model and ARK points to Intel's specs. Look for "FCLGA" – that usually indicates an LGA 1150 (4th gen) or LGA 1200 (10th gen). The cooler you choose may affect whether you need a new bracket, especially if you switch from AM4 to another socket type.

Thanks for the feedback. You're continuing to use the older version of the Captain 240, which has reliably kept your CPU temperature under control over the years. It still performs well and maintains its effectiveness.
