I received an Asus x501u at a discount for a PC I previously sold (30 euros, in perfect condition including battery and charger). The specifications are: AMD C-60 dual-core @1.2-1.3GHz with integrated HD6290, 2GB soldered (some units have dims, others don’t), a 320GB HDD running Windows 7 32-bit. It seems to have trouble opening Chrome tabs, which is worse than the older DC7800 I sold to someone else that ran much better. The RAM isn’t the issue—it’s the CPU. When I looked up this processor, I found a tool called Brazos Tweaker that can boost clocks up to 4GHz without changing voltages. How realistic is that? The temperatures aren’t reported (I didn’t repaste, normal TDP 9W), and power usage isn’t clear. HWmonitor shows 4Ghz too, and performance has improved enough that 720p60 is now possible on YouTube with adblocker and no extra work. For fun, I was thinking about installing Android x86 or a Linux distribution—something new for me that I hadn’t found before. I’m curious if this works well, since it might appeal to people who prefer something beyond Windows 7 32-bit. The tool also caps performance at 4GHz and appears to be designed mainly for older CPUs like Zancate and Ontario. It could be an old exploit, or maybe AMD has heavily slowed down the silicon (only a 2-3°C rise, same fan speed). I posted this just to let others know it exists and to ask how credible it is, as I’m not entirely sure.

You might test some benchmarks for stock speeds and 4GHz to confirm the improvements are genuine

Just a guess, honestly.
