My computer stopped working yesterday while I was playing a game, then it restarted after a minute. I assumed the issue was from an overclocked CPU, so I began running tests. It remained stable but the Cinebench scores dropped by 7 to 10 points. My previous average was between 594 and 598. The clock is now 3.9 GHZ and operates at 60 degrees Celsius under load. I've been overclocking for two weeks and have noticed a decline in performance after the freeze.

I strongly advise running a stress test on your PC for at least an hour using AIDA 64 Extreme; doing it for several hours is even better. Download AIDA 64 here: https://www.aida64.com/downloads. If this doesn’t work, it means something in your system isn’t functioning correctly. You might need to reduce the clock speed of that part or increase its voltage. Good luck!

If your score fell by 7-10 points (a small drop), it doesn't seem to be due to a freeze or overclock problem. It might be because certain services or processes were running in the background, leading to higher CPU usage during testing.

It might be that windows is "recovering" following the freeze, and as grmnlxndr mentioned, background tasks are attempting to verify or restore any damaged or missing files after the freeze.
