A few months back I purchased a new motherboard (B550m BAZOOKA) and a Ryzen 5600g CPU. Since then, my computer has been experiencing issues. The memory only functions in slots 1 and 2 (I've tested every other setup). Additionally, the CPU fan runs at full speed whenever I start up or restart the system. If it helps, here are my specs: RTX 2080 Inno3D 8GB, 500W power supply, two HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM modules.
We're discussing a specific CPU cooler. Depending on the model, having all fans running during startup is typical—but the unusual RAM behavior suggests a possible pressure issue. It could be due to improper contact between the CPU and cooler inside the socket. If you're confident in handling it safely, remove the cooler, inspect the paste, clean any residue, reinsert the CPU fully, apply fresh thermal paste, and reinstall the cooler. This might resolve the RAM slot misalignment problem. It's also possible the CPU itself is defective and isn't communicating correctly with the RAM slots. Refer to the board manual: for a Dual Channel Memory Kit, use Slots 2 and 4, with Slot 1 nearest the CPU and Slot 4 farthest. If this doesn't fix the issue, the CPU or motherboard may be faulty.
