Hi there! I own an HP Pavilion desktop with an i7-2600 and Nvidia 440, and I just added an AMD RX 580 to boost it. But I'm running into some problems—even before the GPU upgrade, my system would suddenly freeze and black out for a couple of minutes after launching a game. At first, I thought it was the power supply, but it’s rated at 500W, and the CPU TDP is 95W while the GPU draws 180W. That should be sufficient. However, the PC would still shut down completely, though the fans and lights kept running. I’m not sure if the issue lies with the power supply or something else, like the RAM. Could it be related to the memory? Thanks for your help—I'm a bit lost as a newbie with computer upgrades!

Tell me more about the black screen. Is it not responding at all, can you access Task Manager? Or is it simply a black display? Perhaps reinstalling Windows could help, as it might relate to a driver problem. Please let me know and best of luck!

It seems the issue is probably due to outdated drivers. If it shows a black screen, it’s unlikely Windows, but more likely it’s a Blue Screen of Death. Fingers crossed it resolves!
