Hi everyone, I purchased the switch model CableDeconn E0303. It came with a red cable that resembled a USB port. After connecting the switch, display, and everything, I thought the USB cable needed to link to my computer via its USB port. I connected it to my desktop's USB port, but now the monitor only shows a yellow light and there’s no display. I removed the switch and all components, tried again, but the issue persists. I even removed the GPU, booted into the motherboard, and still didn’t get a display. I’m wondering if the red USB cable might have caused damage. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. Just wondering if you went through the CableDeconn instructions before assembling and turning it on. It’s a good habit, RTFM. Here are some extra details about the CableDeconn unit. It’s a Bi-Directional DP Switcher: you can link two DP sources to one display or connect one DP source to toggle between two displays. Two screens won’t show at once—press the “Select” button to switch. While connecting, use the USB cable to power the splitter; otherwise, your display won’t show anything. Keep the cable length short—about 3 meters max between the switcher and your devices. The 8K DP 1.4 Splitter supports 8K@30Hz, 4K@120Hz, and 1080P@240Hz, offering up to 32.4Gbps speeds and compatibility with older DP standards. You’ll need a standard DP 1.4 cable to get the visual effects. Remember: the total length of wires at both ends shouldn’t exceed 3 meters; longer runs can cause signal loss. If your screen flickers, try a shorter connection or plug it in again. Plug and Play—this isn’t USB-C or HDMI switcher/splitter; it needs external power. The DP selector is straightforward to set up and use. Indicator lights show the status when you switch between sources or displays, and only one display can be active at a time.
