It seems like the device is functioning without a GPU, but it’s behaving unpredictably. It boots occasionally, yet powers off whenever it makes contact with anything—like shifting the case a bit. This reminds me of Schrödinger's computer: it either works or it doesn’t, and you have to press the power button to see.
You sure there isn't a short somewhere? Touching something and it turns off sounds iffy. Do you have the BIOS set to iGPU? Spitballing here since you don't give specs or much other info.
I doubt it, I looked for water since the 3080 was a powerful card. I don’t own an Igpu, just know it functions. It handles all tasks on the mainboard. Specs: Intel i5 13400f, ASUS B760 plus D4 WiFi, 32gb 3200mhz Corsair vengeance. Corsair Cx750, MSI m100r case.
I'm not concerned about water. The issue seems to be a loose wire or back connection. Something that, when disturbed, leads to a power interruption or triggers the power supply unit. It's not normal or safe to physically shake the PC—it will stop working.
Take the board out and check it on a tray. Ask about the age of that power supply.
The motherboard may be making contact with a loose screw inside the case, possibly not aligning properly with its lifting screws, or there could be a dangling wire touching something unintended. Several factors could lead to short circuits.
