Hello, I tried to turn on 4G encoding to activate AMD Smart Memory. I thought I needed to disable CSM first, then save and exit BIOS, but now I have no display. I removed the CMOS battery and changed the CLR_CMOS pins, yet nothing worked. I’ve had this issue before and it resolved after removing the battery. Thanks all!

It seems you've encountered some issues after adjusting your BIOS configuration. Specifically, enabling 4G encoding and turning off CSM to activate AMD Smart Memory hasn't resolved the display problem. It's important to remember that disabling CSM can sometimes lead to booting difficulties. If you're uncertain about your actions, consider seeking advice from someone more knowledgeable or reviewing your motherboard's documentation.

Looking at possible fixes: Verify your BIOS settings again to ensure no other changes are affecting boot. Restart the BIOS to its default configuration by accessing the setup menu and selecting "Reset to default" or "Load default settings." Look for available BIOS updates and install them if necessary. Examine your hardware connections, ensuring all components are securely installed and properly connected.

If these steps don't work, you might need to resort to a more drastic method—such as removing the battery, unplugging the system, holding the power button for 30 seconds, and then restarting. This can fully reset the system. I hope these recommendations assist you in restoring your setup!

Remove the power cord then switch on the CMOS that might help. If your GPU doesn’t support MB PCI driver it usually won’t show but often video will restart when the OS loads. You could try an IGPU. Check if the fans are spinning up and if there’s any MB light, please share your system specs (MB, CPU, GPU, PSU).

I've already attempted to switch the clr_cmos setting, but it didn't resolve the issue. All fans—CPU cooler and GPU fans—are running normally, RGB on RAM stays active, and everything is seated properly. Your system specs are: Ryzen 5 5600X, RX6600 XT, Gigabyte B550 M.2 SSD, 750W PSU, 16GB RAM at 3000MHz.

Replace the GPU and its connections. Your Windows setup comes from an older board (you kept the drive during upgrades). Attempt to reset the CMOS once more—the CSM is typically turned on by default, so if it’s causing the issue, it should be resolved.

I've tried that and it didn't work... Such a tough situation.

With the latest cooling methods for the GPU, do you believe it will work?
