After BIOS update, no post appears for EZ Debug CPU & DRAM
Hello! My partner finally chose to upgrade his setup, but posting issues persist. He originally had a Ryzen 5 3600 paired with an RTX 2060; he’s using the MSI B450M Bazooka MAX WIFI motherboard and two Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200 RAM sticks. After updating the BIOS to version 7C87v1D, we faced a BSOD Boot Loop (SrtTrail.txt). We had to reinstall Windows after the system crashed. Later, we upgraded to a Ryzen 9 5900x and an RTX 4060 TI, adding two more RAM sticks. Despite these changes, we encountered an EZ Debug error with white lights on CPU and DRAM. After swapping RAM slots, clearing CMOS, unplugging devices, and re-seating the CPU, nothing improved. We then returned to the older Ryzen 5 3600, which still shows a CPU debug light. We also tried swapping RAM and clearing CMOS multiple times without success. Finally, we attempted to replace the graphics card, but it didn’t work. It’s strange he ended up with a bricked motherboard after BIOS updates. It seems his Windows install on the SSD got corrupted, though we thought it was just an odd coincidence. Is the board still functional? Full specs: CPU – Ryzen 5 5900x (previously 3600); GPU – RTX 4060 TI (previously 2060); Board – MSI B450M Bazooka MAX WIFI; PSU – 600W EVGA 80+ GOLD; RAM – 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3200; Storage – 1TB SSD, 1TB HDD, 500GB HDD; Cooler – Master Liquid 240L Core White ARGB.
Using 4 sticks isn’t ideal; go with 2. Check if they’re running at normal speeds—adjust if needed. Run a Testmem5 Edited January 1, 2024 by leclod
