We're trying to find an affordable copy of Office Student 2013. Our idea is to purchase one disc and then buy individual licenses later. Any suggestions on where we might find a budget-friendly copy of the disc? Also, if you know any places like Reddit or other sites where cheap keys are shared, that would be really helpful.
You purchase the disks because your institution doesn’t have access to Dreamspark or MSDN subscriptions.
Schools receive these materials at no cost through agreements with administrators. Would you really want to skip them?
You can obtain the installation kit directly from Microsoft’s website. You download the complete version as a trial, after which you can enter an activation key. Regarding inexpensive keys... well, I’m not sure... they’re quite reasonable for students. They also offer Office Online now, allowing free use online, though it’s a bit limited and less polished. I occasionally use it and find it very useful.
You can't purchase the discs directly; you obtain the key first. If you buy from a physical store or online, you receive a disc along with the key, or you download the .exe file from Microsoft’s site and install it yourself. The cost should be similar whether you buy in person or online. You have two main choices: either purchase a physical copy at a shop or buy it digitally from a retailer like Microsoft, then download and install the .exe. Since he is a teacher, he likely has a way to get a discount—perhaps by providing proof of his teaching position. It’s also important to clarify whether this is for personal use or for school equipment; if it’s for the school, the purchase should be handled through proper licensing channels in that country. The most affordable method usually involves buying from a store or Amazon and purchasing multiple copies, checking for available vouchers. Office 365 isn’t suitable here unless it’s intended for shared use and not personal.
