Hello, I'm looking at a two-PC configuration where one runs games on one machine and records on another in 4K at 140Mbps. The files are large, so I need to boost the 1Gbps transfer rate over standard Ethernet. You're considering upgrading the weaker PC with a 10GbE NIC or switching to a motherboard with built-in 10GbE, using a crossover cable. I also heard about Infiniband NICs that offer 40GbE for around $30—anyone has experience with this? Also, are there options to connect the two PCs directly via USB-C?

Consider using a TB3 NVMe case, copying files to it, then moving them manually. You might be able to move up to 1TB in under 10-15 minutes (about 300 seconds at 3GB/s) or via USB-C external SATA, which would take roughly an hour for the same volume.
