I'm researching a HOTAS configuration for Star Citizen. I'm evaluating the Logitech/Saitek x56 Rhino and exploring ways to position the controllers securely on my chair. The concept involves storing the sticks beneath or inside the armrests and lifting them forward when required. I'm seeking suggestions on practical implementation or improvements. I'll share concept sketches once I have more time.

The goal is to achieve stability. My armrests naturally move independently, so it’s not a major issue with the chair. I’d opt for a basic plattform with a hinge. A latch at the base to keep the sticks facing down, plus some drawer rails to maintain upright position.

I had a concept involving a RAM mount designed like a wheelchair iPad holder or a bike GoPro attachment, both offering full, arm-like support. The arm rests appear solid, secured with four bolts on the seat and back of the chair. There should be sufficient space for the stick and throttle to fold down comfortably without causing discomfort. I plan to create some sketches once I have a moment.

Might be a bit late but there's the option to arm clamps mounted to the arms, see here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0090EYJFE/r...1R2IJDILRL

That sounds like a good idea. Using some TV arm mounts could work well for your project.
