Advice for achieving 5.0GHz on 7980XE Try different settings and configurations to boost performance.
Hello, I fixed some problems yesterday and am now fully upgrading my 7980XE. I turned off HT for scoring and achieved 4.9Ghz with 33 mesh and a voltage of 1.3. The chip temperatures during TimeSpy Physics reached 78C, giving me plenty of margin. Anything above that causes BSODs. I aimed for 5.0Ghz but even at 1.35V it works (4.9Ghz is fine at 1.3V). Any advice on making it more stable?
Consider placing radiators in an ice bath. Alternatively, increase the power stage switching frequency to its highest setting—though this may be challenging if thermal constraints exist.
The settings for X299 Dark are typically found in the game's configuration menu or through community resources.
Thanks for the guidance. I purchased Copper IHS and I hope it covers everything.
Copper IHS and liquid metal have limited lifespan. Please be ready for frequent removal and replacement of the liquid metal.
I understand it won’t be long-lasting. I’ll handle maintenance yearly. Of course, I’ll stick with the older model. A seller on eBay mentioned it lasted two years before needing replacement, which makes sense.
