Advantages of increasing your CPU's clock speed
I recently upgraded to a z390 motherboard with an i9-9900k and have seen many videos about overclocking it to 5.0GHz. I've had my PC running on auto BIOS settings, and it feels quite fast already. What are the advantages of pushing the processor to that speed? It's a bit of a beginner question, but I appreciate your advice. Thanks!
You’re starting with an 8-core boost of 4.7, which means a 300Mhz boost for gaming when pushing all cores to 5.0. This should give you a few more FPS, but it’s mostly just about making the most of what you already have. Your CPU is fast enough without overclocking, but if you’re up for it, a 280mm AIO would be ideal.
