I own an Xbox One controller, mainly for those occasional games. Elite Dangerous, Dead Souls 2 and DMC are the three titles I play with it. I try to rely on mouse and keyboard as much as I can, since RTS, FPS and 4X all work well with them. Most RPGs fit too (except DS2, where the controller is much more precise), and all third-person games I've tried except DMC. M&K is better for nearly every game, with just a few exceptions, which is why having both is ideal.
I play on my PC using a controller as well. For FPS games I stick to the mouse/keyboard, and for games without 360 controllers, I prefer that. I think it's more natural to use a controller.
Absolutely, that's precisely what I was saying. It just seems more accurate. Perhaps it's because I've always enjoyed playing games on XBox, starting from the original console up to the Xbox 360. I consistently disliked PlayStation pads and never purchased a PlayStation except for the initial model.
That's not an admission, just a choice. Don't feel embarrassed about it.
I appreciate the ease since you don't need to worry about pressing the right key. It offers vibration and pressure-sensitive analog sticks along with toggles. Every game works well with it, enhancing the experience compared to keyboard/mouse. I usually choose PC over consoles. I once purchased and sold an Xbox 360 to upgrade my PC's graphics card. Now I use the 360 controller on my PC and own a second one for emulating old games, playing Forza and Halo.
You usually have to look down to confirm you're pressing the correct key, but that wasn't always the case. It mainly applies when using non-standard or special keys.
