This subject is a bit specialized, but I couldn't locate similar information elsewhere. I'm delaying a NAS purchase due to budget constraints, though my computer is packed with files. I used my router's readyshare function—it functions adequately, even if not as expected. The web interface has an unappealing layout, but I’m okay with the HTML structure. I prefer using apps on mobile devices for FTP or shares rather than a browser-based version. For playing archived videos, I’d use Universal Media Player via the browser with DNS support, making it accessible for family members without needing to download separate apps. I’m not sure if everyone should type FTP URLs directly in Chrome. I’ve already tested brute-forcing directories with dirbuster on Kali Linux, so I’m considering other options. Any advice would be appreciated.

It's a tightly controlled software/firmware. I wouldn't recommend using it if you're planning to share it online.
