Adjusting the Core Multiplier and Voltage Settings for Pentium G3258/MSi Z97 PC Mate
Hi,
I’m attempting to push my Pentium G3258 overclock using a MSi Z97 PC Mate motherboard, but the BIOS blocks changes to core multipliers or voltage settings. Even though the initial BIOS version should have been compatible, I updated it to the latest (v. 4.12) and still faced issues. I’m familiar with the overclocking process on my i7-4790K/GA-Z97X-G3 system, which runs smoothly at 4.8 GHz with 1.245 V, yet the MSi BIOS keeps locking core clocks and voltages to "auto." Many guides suggest successful overclocking on this platform, so I’m wondering if there’s something I’m missing. Could someone clarify what might be going wrong?
I didn't search for it before posting, and I never came across this thread before. It seems the link I found actually works well—options can be adjusted with the plus or minus keys. Luckily, someone recommended this thread a bit lower down.
