I have the 7900 on the Gigabyte B650M DS3H and wish to fine-tune it. The goal is to balance performance with efficiency—reducing both power use and heat output for a specific processing level. It runs in Fractal Torrent and is cooled by a Thermalright Peerless Assassin SE. Both noise and energy consumption matter to me. So far, I've adjusted BIOS settings: 1. Activated XMP to run RAM at 6000/CL30 as advertised. 2. Enabled PBO; originally set the limit to 125W but couldn't adjust it after a CMOS reset—there was a hidden method to fix it. 3. Experimented with the Infinity Fabric fabric, expecting a direct 1:1 match since I have 6000 RAM. I tried setting the frequency to 2000MHz and then raised it to 3000MHz, but neither worked consistently, even after a BIOS reset. Removing the CMOS battery helped clear the BIOS, so I decided against further tweaks. Now I’m sticking to points 1 and 2 in BIOS and will avoid the Infinity frequency until I gain more insight. Also, resetting by shorting pins didn’t resolve the issue; both attempts with power on failed to clear BIOS errors. I had to take out the battery temporarily under the SSD heat spreader to refresh the system. For future reference, running the All-Core Curve Optimizer in Ryzen Master took about an hour. Afterward, I considered entering optimized values directly into BIOS. The manual mentioned options for "all cores" versus "per core," but it wasn’t clear which was preferable. I think Ryzen Master is meant to test settings in Windows and then apply them manually in BIOS. My aim is to find lower voltages and power usage for a given clock speed, allowing more performance with less electricity. This process seems to be a smarter automated approach. If this helps, I should look into the specific values in Ryzen Master and input them into BIOS.
After experimenting with the infinity frequency setting, the system failed to boot. My monitors entered standby mode. I restarted several times and briefly cut power, but nothing worked. Eventually, removing the battery was necessary. I’m not comfortable relying solely on trial and error. This PC is used for work, so I assume Ryzen Master evaluates each core at different frequencies and voltages to determine a safe operating point—possibly lower than the factory voltage for that clock speed. Running a single test for all cores took over an hour. I believe this process automatically checks safe values to prevent the user from having to do it manually. The interface offers options to select all cores or per-core settings, and you can adjust the "Difference Offset value." The offset is currently set to Manual (auto is -49). If anyone knows what values to use, I’d appreciate the guidance so I can proceed confidently. In BIOS, PBO is enabled; I’m also unsure whether Auto-Overclocking should be activated in Ryzen Master as well.
